So, I have this guy friend who identifies as feminist. Awesome right?!

Except... He's kind of.... doing it wrong. I follow him on twitter and he goes on these anti-violence against women/anti-racism/anti-religion rants, which would be fine with me because I'm on the same side, but he always seems to take it from the "women need to do more against X" perspective, and it really bugs me, because HELLO, victim blaming much? His heart honestly seems to be in the right place, but I can't seem to make him understand basic things like the fact that sexism online will not stop because of women, but because other men stop tolerating it from their male peers etc, and that rape culture won't end by covering women up, but by educating people about concepts concerning consent. Just... DUH!

It really bugs me because I think the feminist movement definitely needs male allies, and I'm excited that he's at least enlightened enough to openly identify as feminist and not see it as a bad thing. But I also don't want him saying/promoting ideas that run contrary to feminism, because that doesn't help anything.....
